Stamps going up again

It might be about time to throttle up on the stamp buying, because in about a year the Post Office is raising rates again. Word is, probably around two cents. I think it's about time the government got out of the mail business. I have to wonder how much an outfit like UPS would need to charge to send a first class letter?

Maybe they can! I'm talking about if they could put it in your mailbox.I mean, it's YOUR mailbox, why can't other delivery services put things in it?

I would look for FedEx to take over the letter mail before UPS. The USPS already partnered with FedEx to support their overnight packages. In fact, USPS is FedEx's largest customer, while at the same time, largest competitor.

A letter with UPS or FedEx will cost much more than 39 cents. I am happy with the service that USPS provides.

Btw, considering the amount of junk mails we receive in advertizement, I have a different scheme in mind.

All the promotional letters should bear a $2.00 stamp for first class mail services. It will help environment by saving paper and it will reduce the junk that every person handles during night. It will help municipality since they will have to recycle less waste paper and it will be for a greener earth.

Perhaps this increase can also survive the 2 cent increase that we need to make. What say?

Well, most "junk mail" is sent 4th class. You can do away with almost all of that by opting out.(see my post on opting out)I disagree with you in saying that another company can't do it for 39 cents. If fedex had the sole responsibility, there is a lot ore vlume involved and I think they woud make a killin!!!!Just look at the big bundle of mail your postman carries, multiply each letter times .37. How many mailmen are there in the nation? That's a lot of $$$$$$$$
