BradsBlog Movie Review- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

I took two of my boys to the movies tonight to see this. I must admit I didn't want to go see it to begin with. I was also afraid my younger boy, age three, would be terrified of Willie Wonka. However, I was overall impressed with it. It is more futuristic than the older version. I think it was a good movie, even for young children. Nobody was scared.

Thanks for the post!

I was going to take my 4 year old, and thought the same thing - FEAR.

Gotta go see it now!

except for the scary ticket prices? I'll have to take my daughter this weekend, thanks for the review. Will it work for an 11-yr-old?

geez...i hate to be the naysayer here, but i didn't think the movie was appropriate for kids at all. i had someone mention that kids understand and pick up on more than you know. and while i don't doubt that i still think some of the messages and imagery in that flick were not kid-friendly. i must say that i had not seen any of Tim Burton's previous movies (Nightmare Before Christmas). If i had i probably would not have bene as shocked. I now am aware that his style is rather dark, morose, andjust plain weird. As an adult viewing the flick I thought it was pretty cool...especially the set design!! But as far as kids go I thought it was a little bit trippy and dark.
