Give and inch, take a mile

The feds are looking in to whether or not Martha Stewart violated her house arrest agreement. As far as I know, she is allowed to leave her home for 48 hours a week for work purposes only. Appearantly, she has been going out on the town, as well as attending parties and other social events. I guess she believes that showing her face is considered actual work. Obviously, opinions vary.

one of my thoughts about this ... If Martha can work that angle and meet the requirements of her parole, I'm all for her doing it. It counted as work before she went to prison. Why not now? ;)

I probably agree with Deb. Part of a founder's job, as Dave Thomas at Wendy's demonstrated, is to be the company's visible face. In order to create value for her shareholders, she could argue, she has to be out there. With a good lawyer, she could probably pull off a defence of that at the parole hearing.
